Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies we use on parichay.one, why we use them, and how you can control them.
On this page
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They let the site remember information about your visit — such as whether you're signed in, or how you like a page to look — the next time you load a page or return to the site.
Alongside cookies, we sometimes use similar technologies that serve the same purpose:
- Local storage and session storage — small amounts of data stored in your browser, used by the parichay.one dashboard to keep the app responsive between page loads.
- Pixels and similar tags — tiny, often invisible elements that can confirm a page or email was loaded, used sparingly and only in combination with the analytics tool described in this policy.
For simplicity, this policy refers to all of these collectively as "cookies." This policy covers cookies set by parichay.one, the marketing site and web dashboard. Our native iOS and Android apps do not use browser cookies; where they store similar information on-device, that is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Cookies
We keep the cookies we use to a minimum and group them into three categories:
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the parichay.one dashboard to function and cannot be switched off. They include keeping you signed in to your account between page loads, and security tokens that protect your session from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and other common web attacks. Without these cookies, core features like viewing your saved contacts or editing your digital card would not work.
Functional / preference
These cookies remember choices you've made so you don't have to make them again — for example, whether you prefer light or dark theme, which tab you last had open in the app (such as Contacts or Card Editor), and whether you've already seen and dismissed a banner or announcement.
Analytics / performance
These cookies help us understand, in aggregate, how people use parichay.one — which pages are visited, which features get used, and where users run into friction — so we can improve the product. This data is analysed in aggregate and is not used to build individual advertising profiles.
We do not use third-party advertising or ad-retargeting cookies. Parichay does not sell your data to ad networks, and no cookie on parichay.one is used to follow you around the web or target ads to you on other sites.
3. Cookies We Use
The table below lists the specific cookies currently set by parichay.one. Names and durations may change slightly as we improve the product, but the categories and purposes described here will stay accurate.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| parichay_session | Keeps you signed in to your account as you move between pages of the dashboard | Strictly necessary | Session |
| parichay_csrf | Security token that protects forms and account actions from cross-site request forgery | Strictly necessary | Session |
| parichay_pref | Remembers interface preferences, such as theme and your last-used tab in the app | Functional | 1 year |
| parichay_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie consent choice so we don't ask again on every visit | Functional | 1 year |
| _pa_analytics | Helps our privacy-conscious analytics tool understand aggregate usage patterns | Analytics | 13 months |
4. Third-Party Cookies
The only third party involved in cookies on parichay.one is a privacy-conscious analytics tool that we use to understand aggregate product usage — for example, which pages and features are used most, and general trends in traffic. This tool is configured to minimise the data it collects, and we do not use it to build individual profiles or share data with advertising networks.
We do not embed third-party advertising pixels, social-media tracking widgets, or ad-retargeting scripts on parichay.one. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before any new third-party cookie is set.
5. Cookies and Your Consent
In line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we show a cookie consent banner the first time you visit parichay.one.
- Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent, since the site cannot function securely without them. They are set automatically.
- Functional and analytics cookies are optional. You can accept or decline them from the consent banner, and adjust your choice at any time afterwards.
Your consent choice is itself remembered using the parichay_cookie_consent cookie described above, so that we respect your preference on future visits instead of asking every time.
6. How to Manage or Disable Cookies
You are always in control of cookies on your device. Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies from their settings menu — typically under a section named "Privacy," "Security," or "Cookies," where you can choose to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or clear cookies already stored.
Keep in mind that if you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, some parts of parichay.one may stop working correctly — for example, you may be signed out and asked to log in again on every visit, and interface preferences like your theme or last-used tab won't be remembered.
To change your functional and analytics cookie choices on parichay.one specifically, without affecting other sites, you can reopen the cookie consent tool at any time from the link in our site footer, or by clearing the parichay_cookie_consent cookie in your browser to see the banner again.
7. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is not yet a common industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, parichay.one does not currently change its behaviour automatically based on this browser setting. This is consistent with the approach taken by most websites today.
You can still control non-essential cookies directly through our consent tool, described above, regardless of your browser's DNT setting.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature that uses cookies, or to reflect changes in the law such as updates to DPDP or GDPR guidance. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to check back periodically. Material changes will be reflected here, and where appropriate, we will refresh your consent choices via the banner.
